Frank Peletier started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 2 minutes, Camille Baume mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the France and the Mesterháza players grew even worse after the yellow card. Maxime Durand was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Roland Berkes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. Jean Bombelles kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. The supporters of France booed when Mesterháza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erasmo Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gyula Grósz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Peletier in the 21st minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Roland Berkes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maxime Durand was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. The attack was good, but when Roland Berkes in the 95th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. When Roland Berkes came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Mesterháza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roland Berkes couldn't finish the play.
