An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 15th minute of play forced Sconvols United's goalkeeper Alvaro Marchesani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alvaro Marchesani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 17th minute of the match. After the first half Netherlands were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 79th minute Lars Meesters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Marchesani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alvaro Marchesani came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Lars Meesters. But to his dismay, Lars Meesters quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Sconvols United's Ferruccio Allegretti. But to his dismay, Ferruccio Allegretti quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Netherlands's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
