After some careless play in the Imbituba - FSCMZ defense, Gernando Azevedo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sidney Motta. The Imbituba - FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sidney Motta should have stopped the shot. Sidney Motta came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's Gernando Azevedo. But to his dismay, Gernando Azevedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nathaniel Burnett in the 28th minute of play forced Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Ruy Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fred Monteiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st match minute, Imbituba - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armandinho Loyola to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute of the match Gernando Azevedo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sidney Motta showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nathaniel Burnett stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
