Mané Lara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diguinho da Mata read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ's zone, Maurício Donatello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diguinho da Mata came out of the goal and Maurício Donatello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mané Lara blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Diguinho da Mata having to make a save. In the 31st minute Mané Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diguinho da Mata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mané Lara might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diguinho da Mata. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mané Lara ran back to his position shaking his head. Diguinho da Mata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mané Lara in the 34th minute of the match. Otávio Niedermeier hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Ramón Nogueira struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Borys Gruchacz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ramón Nogueira made a kick off. The supporters of Joinville United - FSCMZ booed when Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Joinville United - FSCMZ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
