After 27 minutes Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dani Alves who took care of the corner kick. Imbituba - FSCMZ's Dani Alves was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ruy Montenegro in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A collision led to Imbituba - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Rogério da Silva hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fred Monteiro got free with Sidney Motta in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sidney Motta was a little too slow when Fred Monteiro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 37th minute. The score was now 1-0. Sidney Motta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gernando Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. In the 47th minute, Fred Monteiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Ruy Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogério da Silva in the 50th minute of play. In the 52nd minute of the match, Ersan Ergüleç tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ruy Montenegro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's Ruy Montenegro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Los Andes FC - FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. In the 58th minute Arjen Robben shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidney Motta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Ersan Ergüleç came free, but Ruy Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute, Nathaniel Burnett ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ruy Montenegro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1.
