Válbson Pimenta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Borys Gruchacz made a huge save. In the 13th minute Ersan Ergüleç shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Borys Gruchacz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joinville United - FSCMZ's Borys Gruchacz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Válbson Pimenta in the 15th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Joinville United - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Ersan Ergüleç came free, but Borys Gruchacz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ersan Ergüleç spun around in front of the goal 18 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Joinville United - FSCMZ's goal. Imbituba - FSCMZ's Ersan Ergüleç got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Joinville United - FSCMZ booed when Imbituba - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dani Alves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Imbituba - FSCMZ's Sidney Motta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurício Donatello in the 41st minute of play. Borys Gruchacz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogério da Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 42 minutes into the match, Joinville United - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Válbson Pimenta came free, but Borys Gruchacz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mané Lara in the 47th minute of play forced Imbituba - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Sidney Motta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Válbson Pimenta to strike the kick off in the second half. Sidney Motta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yang Hui Wen in the 51st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Válbson Pimenta in the 54th minute of play forced Joinville United - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Borys Gruchacz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Joinville United - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Válbson Pimenta came free, but Borys Gruchacz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Borys Gruchacz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válbson Pimenta in the 57th minute of the match. Imbituba - FSCMZ's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dani Alves in the 58th minute. The corner led Imbituba - FSCMZ's Dani Alves to fire away a dangerous shot which Borys Gruchacz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Imbituba - FSCMZ's Berenguer Anda was substituted for Válbson Pimenta. Borys Gruchacz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nathaniel Burnett in the 69th minute of play. Borys Gruchacz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogério da Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th match minute, Joinville United - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Didi Cardozo to maneuver through the defense. Rogério da Silva kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. In the 85th minute, Joinville United - FSCMZ's Didi Cardozo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sidney Motta. Sidney Motta yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. Yang Hui Wen took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sidney Motta. Sidney Motta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Imbituba - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Sidney Motta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 93 minutes had been played when some careless play by Imbituba - FSCMZ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lennart Khan was slow to take the kick. During this time Joinville United - FSCMZ's players had a chance to rest. After a rather tough play, Imbituba - FSCMZ's Rogério da Silva got a free kick in the 93rd minute. In the 94th minute of the match Lennart Khan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sidney Motta skillfully saved the ball. The Joinville United - FSCMZ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Joinville United - FSCMZ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
