Stratos Goumas kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Major Barna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hungary's supporters rose to their feet, but Major Barna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thanasis Triantis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 7th minute Antal Valentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thanasis Triantis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 9th minute, Major Barna ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thanasis Triantis was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The audience was convinced that Antal Valentin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thanasis Triantis was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. BPS F.C.'s Thanasis Triantis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Balazs Lajos in the 16th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diogenis Liolidis during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, BPS F.C.'s Diogenis Liolidis got a free kick in the 17th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Takacs Tibor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hungary's supporters rose to their feet, but Takacs Tibor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thanasis Triantis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Takacs Tibor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute, Major Barna made a precise shot to the right of Thanasis Triantis. BPS F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 28th match minute, Hungary was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Balazs Lajos to maneuver through the defense. BPS F.C.'s Thanasis Triantis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Balazs Lajos in the 30th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Antal Valentin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thanasis Triantis was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Major Barna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Thanasis Triantis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Antal Valentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fanis Prekkas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Major Barnas short, quick shot in the 54thth minute got Thanasis Triantis to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Thanasis Triantis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antal Valentin, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After a defensive mix-up in BPS F.C.'s zone, Antal Valentin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thanasis Triantis came out of the goal and Antal Valentin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanasis Triantis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antal Valentin in the 63rd minute. With a little luck, BPS F.C.'s Thanasis Triantis got control of the ball when Antal Valentin tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 68 played minutes BPS F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Tolis Mantzios. 69 minutes into the match, Hungary's Antal Valentin broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kostas Romanakoglou in the 71st minute of play. Diogenis Liolidis struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Fodor Daniel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BPS F.C.. Nikos Kipouros hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Antal Valentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 85 minutes into the match, Hegedus Henrik dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Thanasis Triantis, 0-3. If Major Barna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antal Valentin scored 0-4 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thanasis Triantis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
