Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Maarten Colen took the kick off in the first half of the match. Khalid Kennedy was a little too slow when Mathijs de Zee got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 5th minute. The score was now 1-0. After 7 played minutes MVV Maastricht got a freekick which was hit by Hans Roelofsen. Dean Verbruggen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Micah Macdonald in the 8th minute of play. When Kyle Cox came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the England fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kyle Cox couldn't finish the play. Kyle Cox received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Dean Verbruggen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by John Pothuizen during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to MVV Maastricht getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. John Pothuizen hit a great ball. With a little luck, England's Khalid Kennedy got control of the ball when Maarten Colen tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 23rd match minute, MVV Maastricht was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Otten to maneuver through the defense. Dean Verbruggen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kyle Cox in the 24th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, England's Eddie Willis got a free kick in the 33rd minute. England's Khalid Kennedy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save England from getting a goal against them. 40 minutes into the match, Micah Macdonald notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of MVV Maastricht's Dean Verbruggen. Dean Verbruggen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 44th minute, Maurits Ruben hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute Kyle Cox shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dean Verbruggen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Caelan Hayes's late challenge caught a MVV Maastricht's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Caelan Hayes helped the player get up and apologised. Caelan Hayes kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kyle Cox to strike the kick off in the second half. When England's Kyle Cox in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye MVV Maastricht's goalie prevented a goal. In the 52nd match minute, MVV Maastricht was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernst van Bommel to maneuver through the defense. MVV Maastricht's Dean Verbruggen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kyle Cox in the 54th minute of play. In the 54th minute, Kyle Cox made a precise shot to the right of Dean Verbruggen. MVV Maastricht's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Issac Dawson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dean Verbruggen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kyle Cox, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After having played for 61 minutes, Seth Young managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. England's supporters crossed their fingers, but Seth Young was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Micah Macdonald struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Dean Verbruggen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for England. 70 minutes into the game, England's Kyle Cox nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dean Verbruggen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. 78 minutes into the match, MVV Maastricht's goal looked a bit too open when Issac Dawson came free, but Dean Verbruggen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th minute Kyle Cox shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dean Verbruggen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. England's Khalid Kennedy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurits Ruben in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th minute, Kyle Cox ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dean Verbruggen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. After having played for 88 minutes, Gilbert Fleur managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MVV Maastricht's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilbert Fleur was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Micah Macdonald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Khalid Kennedy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilbert Fleur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 94th minute of the game. One of England:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of MVV Maastricht:s goal. The referee gave MVV Maastricht a penalty, 96 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Maurits Ruben, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of England's Khalid Kennedy. 2-4. England's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
