Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The audience was convinced that Chris Nygaard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dean Verbruggen was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. The Denmark fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Denmark's Chris Nygaard looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chris Nygaard in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dean Verbruggen saved MVV Maastricht from getting behind. In the 10th minute, Alfred Oss hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chris Nygaard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dean Verbruggen having to interfere. Maarten Colen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 14thth minute tested the skills of Keld Paulsen when he managed to save the team from getting behind. MVV Maastricht's John Pothuizen shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 15th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Keld Paulsen but with some difficulty. After a rather tough play, Denmark's Bjarne Kirkegaard got a free kick in the 16th minute. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Maarten Colen took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Keld Paulsen to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Mathijs de Zee managed to get in a good position for a shot. MVV Maastricht's supporters rose to their feet, but Mathijs de Zee was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Keld Paulsen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Olav Graversen was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Ricky Mol hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Lars Steen took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 28th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dean Verbruggen. MVV Maastricht's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 30th minute, Maarten Colen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MVV Maastricht fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Keld Paulsen was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Maurits Ruben capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Maurits Ruben really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. Dean Verbruggen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mikkel Wulff in the 42nd minute of the match. 43 minutes had been played when some careless play by MVV Maastricht's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Chris Nygaard was slow to take the kick. During this time Denmark's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Chris Nygaard almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but MVV Maastricht's Dean Verbruggen did a great save. 45 minutes into the match, MVV Maastricht's goal looked a bit too open when Chris Nygaard came free, but Dean Verbruggen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute Maarten Colen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keld Paulsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Chris Nygaard scored 3-2 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dean Verbruggen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When MVV Maastricht's Maarten Colen in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Denmark's goalie prevented a goal. John Pothuizen got a throw-in 58 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Alfred Oss. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chris Nygaard in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dean Verbruggen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to MVV Maastricht getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Gilbert Fleur hit a great ball. Keld Paulsen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maarten Colen's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. After 83 played minutes MVV Maastricht got a freekick which was hit by Mathijs de Zee. Gilbert Fleur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keld Paulsen having to interfere. Dean Verbruggen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris Nygaard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Denmark's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because MVV Maastricht had won, even though Denmark had held more of the ball.
