The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

With a little luck, Löttorp's Nicu Urmasu got control of the ball when David Eikelkamp tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 53rd minute, David Eikelkamp reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nicu Urmasu. The goal made the score 1-2. With his leg Nicu Urmasu managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when Netherlands's Wim Wilmes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the final whistle sounded Netherlands left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Löttorp.
