Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Alejandro Jerrald took the kick off in the first half of the match. After having played for 3 minutes, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Club Atletico Rio Tercero's Gaudencio Romano got a free kick in the 6th minute. After some careless play in the Club Atletico Rio Tercero defense, Gustaaf Groeneveldt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alvar Öberg. The Club Atletico Rio Tercero fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alvar Öberg should have stopped the shot. In the 10th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Club Atletico Rio Tercero's Jacobo Mark got a free kick in the 11th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Wim Wilmes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alvar Öberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alvar Öberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 14th minute of play. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Alejandro Jerrald sent off a good shot on target. Through an outstanding action, after 34 minutes, Arnout Reekers successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Gijsbert ter Kruimer came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gijsbert ter Kruimer couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 37th minute of play forced Club Atletico Rio Tercero's goalkeeper Alvar Öberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gaudencio Romano hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 42nd minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvar Öberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Club Atletico Rio Tercero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Reyes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alvar Öberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 47 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Bas Tuitert. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the game, Fred Karlsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Arnout Reekers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Alvar Öberg made a huge save. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 71th minute after Club Atletico Rio Tercero's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. In the 76th match minute, Club Atletico Rio Tercero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Reyes to maneuver through the defense. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Karlsson in the 83rd minute of play. Club Atletico Rio Tercero were awarded a corner in the 84th minute after Netherlands's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jacobo Mark took the corner. Club Atletico Rio Tercero's Jacobo Mark was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Arnout Reekers in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 86 minutes into the game, Gijsbert ter Kruimer recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alvar Öberg. Gijsbert ter Kruimer showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. In the 91st minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvar Öberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Club Atletico Rio Tercero's Alvar Öberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 93rd minute of play. In the 94th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. After a rather tough play, Club Atletico Rio Tercero's Saturnino Rubio got a free kick in the 95th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Netherlands walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
