David Eikelkamp lost his temper 3 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 2 minutes into the game, one of Netherlands:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 4th minute, the referee gave Zestoa FT a penalty. Santxo Campoamor looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Arnout Reekers. In the 7th minute of the match, Slawomir Brysz tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arnout Reekers saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Zestoa FT's Ludvig Hedling got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 14th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Zeledon Arribas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 23 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Mathijn Doctor. Zeledon Arribas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Zestoa FT's goalie and right to Lars Meesters. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Zestoa FT's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Netherlands's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Santxo Campoamor was slow to take the kick. During this time Zestoa FT's players had a chance to rest. Zestoa FT's Santxo Campoamor was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Arnout Reekers in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Zeledon Arribas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 37th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 40th minute of play forced Zestoa FT's goalkeeper Zeledon Arribas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gustaaf Groeneveldt to strike the kick off in the second half. Zeledon Arribas made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. Gustaaf Groeneveldt struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Zeledon Arribas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ludvig Hedling in the 90th minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeledon Arribas having to interfere. After 94 minutes, Sixto Cardeñosa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zestoa FT and the Netherlands players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Zeledon Arribas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Zestoa FT players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
