In the 13th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Curea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victor Curea came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer. But to his dismay, Gijsbert ter Kruimer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Victor Curea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 19th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, 1909 Tarnovia's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Victor Curea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, 1909 Tarnovia's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Victor Curea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prosper Vandamme in the 43rd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prosper Vandamme in the 55th minute of play. In the 55th minute, Zdzislaw Biraga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 1909 Tarnovia's Victor Curea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save 1909 Tarnovia from getting a goal against them. Victor Curea made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. Ludomir Werra hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 66th minute, Ludomir Werra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 68 minutes 1909 Tarnovia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Lars Meesters hit a great ball. After 73 minutes of play, 1909 Tarnovia's Zenon Hetman made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! 78 minutes into the game, Gustaaf Groeneveldt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Victor Curea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zenon Hetman in the 82nd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 1909 Tarnovia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Zenon Hetman in the 83rd minute. 1909 Tarnovia's Victor Curea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save 1909 Tarnovia from getting a goal against them. 85 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Prosper Vandamme came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Zenon Hetman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. The 1909 Tarnovia fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Netherlands were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
