After a defensive mix-up in Denmark's zone, Jerzy Kojder stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Keld Paulsen came out of the goal and Jerzy Kojder tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bertram Svenningsen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cyryl Kostka read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Keld Paulsen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jerzy Kojder in the 9th minute. The supporters of Denmark booed when Mazur Elk - koniec gry was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grzegorz Jaruzelski didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Chris Nygaard notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Mazur Elk - koniec gry's Cyryl Kostka. Cyryl Kostka was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bjarne Kirkegaard's late challenge caught a Mazur Elk - koniec gry's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bjarne Kirkegaard helped the player get up and apologised. After 17 played minutes Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Bjarne Kirkegaard. 18 minutes into the game, Mazur Elk - koniec gry's Jurand Jakisz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Keld Paulsen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 21st minute, Chris Nygaard made a precise shot to the right of Cyryl Kostka. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jerzy Kojder got free with Keld Paulsen in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cyryl Kostka didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chris Nygaard went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 43rd minute of play forced Mazur Elk - koniec gry's goalkeeper Cyryl Kostka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Denmark were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jurand Jakisz to strike the kick off in the second half. After 56th play minutes Chris Nygaard shot 1-4, a short shot which went by Cyryl Kostka and just under the crossbar into goal. When Chris Nygaard came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Denmark fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chris Nygaard couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Denmark getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Bertram Svenningsen hit a great ball. Keld Paulsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jurand Jakisz, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. 72 minutes into the game, Chris Nygaard cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Cyryl Kostka was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 77th minute, Wiktor Wolicki made a precise shot to the right of Keld Paulsen. Denmark's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-5. Cyryl Kostka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mikkel Wulff, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. 85 minutes into the match, Chris Nygaard had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cyryl Kostka. Mazur Elk - koniec gry's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chris Nygaard was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-6. Chris Nygaard struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Cyryl Kostka didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Denmark. After a rather tough play, Mazur Elk - koniec gry's Grzegorz Jaruzelski got a free kick in the 94th minute. In the 95th minute, Mikkel Wulff got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Denmark's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
