Daniel Neves's late challenge caught a Ríver Late's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carl Skytt to strike the kick off in the second half. Carl Skytt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. In the 95th match minute, Ríver Late was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Selatse Betances to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Grêmio 20 Julho defense, Carl Skytt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Zanette. The Grêmio 20 Julho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Zanette should have stopped the shot. The Grêmio 20 Julho fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ríver Late were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
