Szárnyaló Sasok's Márk Csáki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 2nd minute of play. When Zoltán Andrássy fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Szárnyaló Sasok's protests and gave Zoltán Andrássy a yellow card for diving instead. The throw-in from Kees Mooiweer in the 5th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Szárnyaló Sasok's Zoltán Andrássy. In the 13th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ludomir Rozanski hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Márk Csáki read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbert Jánosi in the 32nd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Márk Csáki narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Szárnyaló Sasok's zone, Gustaaf Groeneveldt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Márk Csáki came out of the goal and Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 44th minute, Kálmán Mihály had to leave the field with a concussion. When Kees Mooiweer fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Netherlands's protests and gave Kees Mooiweer a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Kees Mooiweer hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 52nd minute of play forced Szárnyaló Sasok's goalkeeper Márk Csáki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Márk Csáki in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 54 minutes Szárnyaló Sasok's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a great header on Netherlands's corner, it was just that Szárnyaló Sasok's Márk Csáki managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 57th minute, Róbert Jánosi made a precise shot to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Kálmán Benczur hit a great ball. After 84 minutes of play, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Márk Csáki was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 88th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Márk Csáki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by Szárnyaló Sasok's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. In the 93rd minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Márk Csáki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl Albi, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Szárnyaló Sasok succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Netherlands had controlled the match.
