Eugen Morozan succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 13th playminute. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olavi Liib having to interfere. Hegedus Henrik took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Olavi Liib. Olavi Liib dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Olavi Liib took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antal Valentin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Antal Valentin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Olavi Liib made a huge save. In the 57th minute of the match Hungary got a corner. Catalin Haldan's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Antal Valentin ran over to the corner to take the kick. Major Barna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olavi Liib having to interfere. After taking down the ball on Hungary's corner Takacs Tibor fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Olavi Liib quite easily take care of the ball. 68 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Telin came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Catalin Haldan getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Olimpiu Pociu hit a great ball. Olavi Liib didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Takacs Tibor went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Antal Valentin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Olavi Liib having to make a save. 83 minutes into the match, Catalin Haldan's goal looked a bit too open when Major Barna came free, but Olavi Liib reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hungary's Antal Valentin got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 88th minute of play forced Catalin Haldan's goalkeeper Olavi Liib to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Balazs Lajos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Olavi Liib. That made the score 1-3 in the 92 minute of play. When the match was over Hungary could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Catalin Haldan throughout the match.
