In the 31st minute, Albeiro Usuriaga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedro Domingues to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Romania's Adam Olaru slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ignacio Di Stasi. That made the score 1-2 after 50 minutes of play. Sanda Cutov received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ignacio Di Stasi came out and tried to block the shot, but Sanda Cutov slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 53rd minute. 59 minutes into the match, Romania's Adam Olaru sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ignacio Di Stasi narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
