Gustavo Coates charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gustavo Coates the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 10 played minutes COPERNICUS TORUŃ got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Coates. In the 19th minute, Felipe Barreto made a precise shot to the right of Gordon Horgan. COPERNICUS TORUŃ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brion Murphy in the 21st minute of the match. Gordon Horgan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 23rd minute of play. After 25 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Fabricio Andrade. Olgun Oktay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gordon Horgan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Pimentel, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. When Portugal's Felipe Barreto in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye COPERNICUS TORUŃ's goalie prevented a goal. 37 minutes into the game, Tahsin Atacan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Wilson Amorim. Tahsin Atacan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Viriato Moura hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Gordon Horgan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute Tahsin Atacan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Pimentel took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gordon Horgan. Gordon Horgan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Olgun Oktay made the kick off in the second half. After taking down the ball on Portugal's corner Viriato Moura fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gordon Horgan quite easily take care of the ball. 59 minutes into the match, COPERNICUS TORUŃ's goalkeeper Gordon Horgan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felipe Barreto. 60 minutes into the match, COPERNICUS TORUŃ's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Gordon Horgan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute Caetano Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gordon Horgan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 64th minute of play forced COPERNICUS TORUŃ's goalkeeper Gordon Horgan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olgun Oktay in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute, Felipe Barreto reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gordon Horgan. The goal made the score 2-3. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. The audience was convinced that Bartolomeu Dias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gordon Horgan was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. Portugal's attentive Felipinho Amorim managed to snatch the ball when Bradner McCready made a throw-in in the 74th minute of the game. 75 minutes into the match, COPERNICUS TORUŃ's goal looked a bit too open when Bartolomeu Dias came free, but Gordon Horgan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Graciano Coutinho hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olgun Oktay in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilson Amorim saved Portugal from getting behind. Gordon Horgan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Pimentel in the 89th minute of play. After some careless play in the Portugal defense, Tahsin Atacan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. The Portugal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Amorim should have stopped the shot. 93 minutes into the match, Portugal's Felipinho Amorim sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gordon Horgan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Olgun Oktay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
