Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Hans Wery took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 7th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albin Holweck to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 9 minutes, Albin Holweck managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Germany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albin Holweck was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hans Wery in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alessandro Del Bello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Ribera getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Felice Allemandi hit a great ball. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ribera's goalkeeper Alessandro Del Bello, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 22 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Linus Schwerner. Angelo Cavanna managed to trick Germany's defense and made a shot which however Tommy Kahn didn't slip through. A nice save in the 27thth minute. Germany's Willy Stieler quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Edmondo Braccia, made in the 30th minute of the game. Alessandro Del Bello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Sachs in the 34th minute of play. Dalmacio Arixo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ibrahim Türker could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Tommy Kahn made a huge save. Alessandro Del Bello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Sachs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank Sachs got free with Alessandro Del Bello in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 55 minutes, Felice Allemandi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ribera and the Germany players grew even worse after the yellow card.
