The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Gustavo Scarpa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustavo Scarpa got free with Wilson Amorim in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Portugal defense, Gustavo Scarpa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. The Portugal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Amorim should have stopped the shot. In the 18th minute Maurício Donatello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Borys Gruchacz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caetano Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Portugal's Felipe Barreto in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Joinville United - FSCMZ's goalie prevented a goal. Gustavo Scarpa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Wilson Amorim when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when Lennart Khan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Borys Gruchacz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caetano Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Guilherme Joinvilense, made in the 41st minute of the game. Graciano Coutinho hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Borys Gruchacz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The wind increased when Viriato Moura made the kick off in the second half. Guilherme Joinvilense made in the 50th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Lennart Khan. Daniel Pimentel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Borys Gruchacz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 54th minute, Gustavo Scarpa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilson Amorim was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Scarpa in the 59th minute of play. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Scarpa, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Felipe Barretos short, quick shot in the 73rdth minute got Borys Gruchacz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 77 minutes into the match, Joinville United - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Borys Gruchacz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Viriato Moura dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Borys Gruchacz, 3-2. Joinville United - FSCMZ's Mané Lara was substituted for Gustavo Scarpa. Joinville United - FSCMZ's Tostão Montenegro was substituted for Didi Cardozo. Daniel Pimentel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Borys Gruchacz having to make a save. Wilson Amorim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mané Lara went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. In the 90th minute, Portugal's Felipinho Amorim dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-3. Felipinho Amorim who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Borys Gruchacz when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
