Roland Hock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 6th minute, Bas Tuitert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roland Hock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 9th minute of the match. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Jan Gotthard tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Justus Lintorf in the 17th minute. Wim Wilmes scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Roland Hock, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roland Hock having to interfere. After 23 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Egbert Nijveldt. Lars Meesters sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 30 minutes into the match, Los Spurs's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Roland Hock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Roland Hock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Los Spurs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Justus Lintorf didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Jonas-Marius Vielmann kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arnout Reekers. That made the score 2-1 in the 45 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonas-Marius Vielmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 85th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roland Hock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Roland Hock didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. Mathijn Doctor hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Netherlands players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Los Spurs.
