In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bombacı Mülayim's goalkeeper Abdi Mehmet Eygül, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 12 minutes into the game, Frank Sachs cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Abdi Mehmet Eygül was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 16th minute, Mecnun Kamil made a precise shot to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 20th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willy Stieler to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Germany's Tommy Kahn got control of the ball when Mecnun Kamil tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 22 minutes, Necmettin Kutsan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bombacı Mülayim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Necmettin Kutsan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Mecnun Kamil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from İlmi Eker in the 28th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Frank Sachs's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abdi Mehmet Eygül was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Germany were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after Bombacı Mülayim's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Frank Sachs took the corner. Mecnun Kamil might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mecnun Kamil ran back to his position shaking his head. 43 minutes into the match, Bombacı Mülayim's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Sachs came free, but Abdi Mehmet Eygül reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Germany's Willy Stieler got a free kick in the 44th minute. The audience held their breath when Ludomil Wiatrak in the 46th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Tommy Kahn's left hand side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Bombacı Mülayim's Abdi Mehmet Eygül proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Bombacı Mülayim from getting a goal against them. Abdi Mehmet Eygül stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frank Sachs's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. In the 56th minute of the game, Adrian Dreifuss landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. When Necmettin Kutsan fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bombacı Mülayim's protests and gave Necmettin Kutsan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 58th minute, Necmettin Kutsan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute, Frank Sachs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Battal Tanzer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th minute, İlmi Eker made a precise shot to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Frank Sachs could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Abdi Mehmet Eygül made a huge save. 75 minutes into the match, Battal Tanzer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Battal Tanzer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. 79 minutes into the game, Frank Sachs recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Abdi Mehmet Eygül. Frank Sachs showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-3. Albin Holweck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 4-3 when Mecnun Kamil sped through Germany's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. Abdi Mehmet Eygül showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albin Holweck, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Albin Holweck scored 4-4 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Abdi Mehmet Eygül, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
