DYNAMIT KATOWICE were furious when Teofil Tamulewicz was red carded, 29 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After a defensive mix-up in DYNAMIT KATOWICE's zone, Martin Bosak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lech Bejgier came out of the goal and Martin Bosak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Iwo Makowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Ilija Skugor managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when DYNAMIT KATOWICE's Radoslaw Brak fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Croatia's Ilija Skugor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radomil Zajonc in the 48th minute of play. After the first half Croatia were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Zygmunt Rutkowski made the kick off in the second half. Ilija Skugor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Kempka in the 52nd minute of the match. Bogumil Rykaczewski hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Robert Domaradzki during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 59 played minutes DYNAMIT KATOWICE got a freekick which was hit by Robert Domaradzki. Iwo Makowski fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 62nd minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. Lech Bejgier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 80 minutes into the match, Radoslaw Brak had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ilija Skugor. Croatia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Radoslaw Brak was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Dinko Stankovic blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lech Bejgier having to make a save. Iwo Makowski kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. 1-2 became the score in the 86th minute when Dinko Stankovic elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After having played for 90 minutes, Toni Mauzer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Croatia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toni Mauzer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Toni Mauzer struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Lech Bejgier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Croatia. Lech Bejgier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Toni Mauzer in the 93rd minute. If Radoslaw Brak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
