The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerry Bibby got free with Keld Paulsen in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ defense, Mikkel Wulff kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jason Lobb. The ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jason Lobb should have stopped the shot. 24 minutes into the game, Bertram Svenningsen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Jason Lobb was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A hard shot 32 in the game by Gerry Bibby from a close distance when the talented Keld Paulsen managed to make a qualified save. Denmark's players were relieved. In the 37th minute, Darren Metcalf got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gerry Bibby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Keld Paulsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gerry Bibby. After having played for 43 minutes, Dom Kyle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dom Kyle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ's Jason Lobb played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Nygaard in the 44th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Chris Nygaard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jason Lobb was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Jason Lobb stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chris Nygaard's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Chris Nygaard managed to get in a good position for a shot. Denmark's supporters rose to their feet, but Chris Nygaard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jason Lobb breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Darren Metcalf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Simon Bendtsen kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Keld Paulsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerry Bibby, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After 79 minutes, Bertram Svenningsen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Denmark and the ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bertram Svenningsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damion Stride was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 81 minutes into the match. Damion Stride kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Bertram Svenningsen took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jason Lobb. Jason Lobb dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Chris Nygaard could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Jason Lobb made a huge save. Owen Bishop made in the 94th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Denmark's Lars Steen. The supporters of Denmark booed when ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brandon Parrott didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Chris Nygaard managed to get in a good position for a shot.
