Deportivo Mandiyu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gustaaf Groeneveldt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 17 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Deportivo Mandiyu's Eulalio Bastian tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 22nd minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eulalio Bastian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute of the game Kees Mooiweer made a throw-in which Gijsbert ter Kruimer played forward. Eulalio Bastian didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zhu Bin Kun, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Lars Meesters fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eulalio Bastian having to interfere. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zhu Bin Kun in the 40th minute of play. Deportivo Mandiyu's Eulalio Bastian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 42nd minute of play. When Zhu Bin Kun came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Deportivo Mandiyu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zhu Bin Kun couldn't finish the play. In the 47th minute, Omar Katia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zhu Bin Kun, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Arnout Reekers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Enzo Bermudo went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Netherlands's zone, Enzo Bermudo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal and Enzo Bermudo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 59 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eulalio Bastian narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wim Wilmes struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Eulalio Bastian didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Deportivo Mandiyu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejo Bermudo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Wim Wilmes took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Eulalio Bastian to make any attempt to save it. Gust Ennemans hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 85th minute of play forced Deportivo Mandiyu's goalkeeper Eulalio Bastian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes had been played when some careless play by Deportivo Mandiyu's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. Roberto Cherro scored 2-4 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arnout Reekers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Netherlands played a much better game than Deportivo Mandiyu and deserved their victory. The Deportivo Mandiyu players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
