The audience thought a goal was coming when Ladislao Bertran got free with Tommy Kahn in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frank Sachs to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 70thth minute of the game Bartolo Nuno who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Germany's Tommy Kahn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
