Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vidosav Joksimović having to interfere. 18 minutes into the game, Radoman Karaičić recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Arnout Reekers. Radoman Karaičić showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. When Gustaaf Groeneveldt came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustaaf Groeneveldt couldn't finish the play. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Thornhill City's goalkeeper Vidosav Joksimović, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Thornhill City booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gust Ennemans didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Radoman Karaičić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gijsbert ter Kruimer hit a great ball. Sima Ignjatović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vidosav Joksimović took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Thornhill City's Zhuo Le Kun was substituted for Radoman Karaičić. Thornhill City made a substitution. Husein Ognjanović replaced Boris Minović. Vidosav Joksimović showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lars Meesters, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zhuo Le Kun in the 95th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Thornhill City support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
