The tension between the Flores Arlt and the Netherlands players grew even worse after the yellow card. Efrain Guillem was a little too slow when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 0-2. With a little luck, Flores Arlt's Efrain Guillem got control of the ball when Wim Wilmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 64 minutes, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wim Wilmes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wim Wilmes got free with Efrain Guillem in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 89 minutes into the game, Flores Arlt's Sabin Răchită nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnout Reekers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4.
