Bas Tuitert hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 17th minute of play forced ПФК Миньор Раднево's goalkeeper Radomir Dzerwucki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the ПФК Миньор Раднево defense, Wim Wilmes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Radomir Dzerwucki. The ПФК Миньор Раднево fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Radomir Dzerwucki should have stopped the shot. After 28 played minutes ПФК Миньор Раднево got a freekick which was hit by Yasen Ormandzhiev. Radomir Dzerwucki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 33rd minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radomir Dzerwucki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Radomir Dzerwucki breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by ПФК Миньор Раднево's Vihar Kalpakchiev. But to his dismay, Vihar Kalpakchiev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zanko Yochkolovski, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Radomir Dzerwucki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 53rd minute of play. Radomir Dzerwucki made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wim Wilmes in the 58th minute. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radomir Dzerwucki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Radomir Dzerwucki in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free with the goalkeeper in the 73rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Radomir Dzerwucki could save by the left post. 82 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Vihar Kalpakchiev came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Radomir Dzerwucki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to ПФК Миньор Раднево getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Yasen Ormandzhiev hit a great ball. ПФК Миньор Раднево's Radomir Dzerwucki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save ПФК Миньор Раднево from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Netherlands's zone, Ottó Csizmadia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal and Ottó Csizmadia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ПФК Миньор Раднево's goalie prevented a goal. Netherlands played a much better game than ПФК Миньор Раднево and deserved their victory. The ПФК Миньор Раднево players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
