Casper Claes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Larkins Potter in the 17th minute. When Jēkabs Pirtslāva fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wara's protests and gave Jēkabs Pirtslāva a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd minute, Jēkabs Pirtslāva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded Belgium left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Wara.
