After a defensive mix-up in STRATEJİ 48's zone, Gustaaf Groeneveldt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aktuğ Sıraç came out of the goal and Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 12th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aktuğ Sıraç saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 13 minutes STRATEJİ 48's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Gijsbert ter Kruimer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Aktuğ Sıraç quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 25 minutes into the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aktuğ Sıraç. STRATEJİ 48's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gustaaf Groeneveldt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 30th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aktuğ Sıraç saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 31st minute. After some careless play in the STRATEJİ 48 defense, David Eikelkamp kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aktuğ Sıraç. The STRATEJİ 48 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aktuğ Sıraç should have stopped the shot. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roy Makaay in the 36th minute of play. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lars Meesters was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Helmut Müllerwiebus in the 52nd minute of the match. STRATEJİ 48's Aktuğ Sıraç played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 54th minute of play. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aktuğ Sıraç having to interfere. Aktuğ Sıraç came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer. But to his dismay, Gijsbert ter Kruimer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. STRATEJİ 48's Ayberk Karataş was substituted for Aybars Onursay. Aktuğ Sıraç took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Helmut Müllerwiebus's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game.
