The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aloys Metzler during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 5th minute, Aloys Metzler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matthias Wagenblast made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chris Nygaard in the 10th minute of play. Denmark's Chris Nygaard was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Matthias Wagenblast in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Matthias Wagenblast showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mikkel Wulff, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 17th minute, Bertram Svenningsen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matthias Wagenblast was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chris Nygaard in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matthias Wagenblast prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joost Schlüter's late challenge caught a Denmark's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joost Schlüter helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to KFC Hansa getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Joost Schlüter hit a great ball. Matthias Wagenblast didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chris Nygaard went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Chris Nygaard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Denmark's Chris Nygaard got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 38 played minutes KFC Hansa got a freekick which was hit by Murathan Kutcan. Murathan Kutcan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Keld Paulsen made a huge save. A collision led to KFC Hansa getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Mario Gallois hit a great ball. In the 46thth minute of the game Chris Nygaard who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KFC Hansa's Matthias Wagenblast was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chris Nygaard stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. During the 52nd minute of the match Aloys Metzler completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Aloys Metzler a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to KFC Hansa getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Aloys Metzler hit a great ball. In the 54th match minute, KFC Hansa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hüseyin-Kenan Knüwe to maneuver through the defense. In the last second Matthias Wagenblast throw himself and got hold of the ball when Chris Nygaard in the 59thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Olav Graversen hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. With his leg Matthias Wagenblast managed to avoid a goal in the 67thth minute, when Denmark's Chris Nygaard fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 67 minutes, Chris Nygaard made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. KFC Hansa's Matthias Wagenblast tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 71st minute, Arne Bastian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 72 minutes into the match, KFC Hansa's goal looked a bit too open when Chris Nygaard came free, but Matthias Wagenblast reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, KFC Hansa's goalkeeper Matthias Wagenblast had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chris Nygaard. In the 77th match minute, KFC Hansa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hüseyin-Kenan Knüwe to maneuver through the defense. After 79 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for KFC Hansa! KFC Hansa:s Matthias Wagenblast showed great skill when he stopped Chris Nygaard:s penalty. 81 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Arne Bastian came free, but Keld Paulsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Denmark's Lars Steen got a free kick in the 81st minute. After 85 minutes Denmark's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ulf Bernhauer who took care of the corner kick. Arne Bastian kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After 89 played minutes Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Kenn Skou. When Bertram Svenningsen fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Denmark's protests and gave Bertram Svenningsen a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of KFC Hansa booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 99 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bertram Svenningsen didn't get a good kick on the ball.
