In the 3rd minute Ionel Siniştean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pancracio Paniagua saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 6 played minutes Rapid Bucharest got a freekick which was hit by Octav Cristea. 9 minutes into the game, POPULAR F.C's Victorio Pabla nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Beržas Lideika made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The supporters of POPULAR F.C booed when Rapid Bucharest was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Octav Cristea didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute Victorio Pabla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beržas Lideika saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Victorio Pabla had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Beržas Lideika. Rapid Bucharest's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Victorio Pabla was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Rapid Bucharest's Beržas Lideika played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victorio Pabla in the 34th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Victorio Pabla left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The POPULAR F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. In the 44th match minute, POPULAR F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Váldson Tande to maneuver through the defense. Victorio Pabla might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Beržas Lideika. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Victorio Pabla ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 48th minute Victorio Pabla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beržas Lideika saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half POPULAR F.C were leading 2-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Beržas Lideika made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victorio Pabla in the 52nd minute of play. When POPULAR F.C's Victorio Pabla in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rapid Bucharest's goalie prevented a goal. In the 73rd minute, Boguslaw Furgat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romeo Dobrica kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. In the 74th minute, Gilson Cordeiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Beržas Lideika was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-6. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victorio Pabla in the 80th minute of play forced Rapid Bucharest's goalkeeper Beržas Lideika to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pancracio Paniagua took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ionel Siniştean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 91 minutes Rapid Bucharest's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gilson Cordeiro who took care of the corner kick. A very nice done corner allowed Váldson Tande to score against Beržas Lideika in Rapid Bucharest's goal. 2-7 after 91 minutes. Virgil Ţirpe charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Virgil Ţirpe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 95 played minutes Rapid Bucharest got a freekick which was hit by Virgil Ţirpe. POPULAR F.C's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
