Atabek Aynacı didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carsten Bont went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Ruben Seinstra managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Maquis's supporters rose to their feet, but Ruben Seinstra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Atabek Aynacı breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Atabek Aynacı made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruben Seinstra in the 21st minute of play. Marco Walregt made in the 41st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Ruben Seinstra however managed to control. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
