Borussia Dortmund's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 7th minute, Pieter Wilhelm ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. John Noffke was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. If Niels Rooy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. John Noffke came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by The Maquis's Carsten Bont. But to his dismay, Carsten Bont quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The supporters of The Maquis booed when Borussia Dortmund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hubert Päßler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Niels Rooy blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without John Noffke having to make a save. John Noffke didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Niels Rooy went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Pieter Wilhelm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Noffke having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Ruben Seinstra made a precise shot to the right of John Noffke. Borussia Dortmund's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. 35 minutes into the game, The Maquis's Niels Rooy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. John Noffke made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. The audience was convinced that Niels Rooy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but John Noffke was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. When The Maquis's Niels Rooy in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Borussia Dortmund's goalie prevented a goal. The Maquis's Ruben Seinstra got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Niels Rooy took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised John Noffke. John Noffke dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-9. In the 55th minute, The Maquis's Niels Rooy ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind John Noffke. John Noffke yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-10. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Niels Rooy in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck John Noffke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Niels Rooy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carsten Bont got free with John Noffke in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Niels Rooy's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, John Noffke skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. John Noffke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niels Rooy in the 68th minute of play. When The Maquis's Niels Rooy in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Borussia Dortmund's goalie prevented a goal. If Carsten Bont had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the game, Niels Rooy recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of John Noffke. Niels Rooy showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-12. In the 78th minute, The Maquis's Niels Rooy ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind John Noffke. John Noffke yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-13. Niels Rooy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. John Noffke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. John Noffke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niels Rooy, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. The The Maquis fans' excitement grew in the 86th match minute when The Maquis's Niels Rooy looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-14 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some careless play in the Borussia Dortmund defense, Carsten Bont kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of John Noffke. The Borussia Dortmund fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that John Noffke should have stopped the shot. When the final whistle sounded The Maquis left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Borussia Dortmund.
