Pindamonhangaba's corner Juninho Paiva fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Flavio Vittori quite easily take care of the ball. Flavio Vittori made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lorenzo Osasun in the 19th minute. Pindamonhangaba booed when Italy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Siricio Liotta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manfredo Pinho in the 57th minute of play. Flavio Vittori was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gernando Guerra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 73rd minute. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gernando Guerra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Zaccheo Andolina could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Gernando Guerra made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juninho Paiva in the 84th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in A.F. Pindamonhangaba's zone, Zaccheo Andolina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gernando Guerra came out of the goal and Zaccheo Andolina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Italy's Sansone Vanella was substituted for Gianpaolo Mascari. A.F. Pindamonhangaba's Gernando Guerra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save A.F. Pindamonhangaba from getting a goal against them. 93 minutes into the game, Ronaldão Mineiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A.F. Pindamonhangaba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Italy the free kick. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Italy players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
