Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ditlev Delmont in the 11th minute of play. Ágætis Byrjun's Georg Hagberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 13th minute of play. In the 20th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georg Hagberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. 38 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ditlev Delmont. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 54th minute of play forced Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Georg Hagberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ladislao Cordarius hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. With his leg Georg Hagberg managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 58th match minute, Ágætis Byrjun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejandro dos Santos to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Georg Hagberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joep Ponk, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute.
