With his leg Tommy Kahn managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when GynBsb's Fellipe Cosme fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Frank Sachs might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frederico Bertassi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Sachs ran back to his position shaking his head. Frederico Bertassi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Sachs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. After 43 minutes of play, GynBsb's Fellipe Cosme made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tommy Kahn was left in no man's land by his defense there! No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Frank Sachs made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Fellipe Cosme's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 58th minute of the game.
