Germany's Frank Sachs got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Sven Zollinger kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tommy Kahn. That made the score 2-0 in the 19 minute of play. The audience was convinced that 김 반's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danilo Yermo, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 김 반, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by 김 반 in the 39th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yuan Jian Hai blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tommy Kahn having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Germany's Adrian Dreifuss got a free kick in the 43rd minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Danilo Yermo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danilo Yermo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albin Holweck to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yuan Jian Hai in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Kahn saved Germany from getting behind. 69 minutes into the match, Real Unión CF's goalkeeper Wilfredo Heli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frank Sachs. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danilo Yermo, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Albin Holweck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilfredo Heli made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Frank Sachs sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Yuan Jian Hai's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. The supporters of Real Unión CF booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Sachs didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Danilo Yermo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 92 minutes into the game, Albin Holweck was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Germany's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Unión CF the free kick. Real Unión CF's 김 반 got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frank Sachs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Real Unión CF had played much better football throughout.
