Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Medero Barral in the 31st minute of play. Aykut Bartu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. The supporters of Portugal booed when Altza Herria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saverio Avila didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute Aykut Bartu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Altza Herria's Aykut Bartu. But to his dismay, Aykut Bartu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Graciano Coutinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but Julio-César van Beek made a huge save.
