David Eikelkamp hit a great ball. 25 minutes into the match, Ginlabbet Stockholm's Ursino Fuente broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 30 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nils-Erik Fagrell. Arnout Reekers was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Bruno Montrel capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bruno Montrel really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Karl-Åke Sandström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 34th minute of play. In the 37th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Åke Sandström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ginlabbet Stockholm's Karl-Åke Sandström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 38th minute of play. Karl-Åke Sandström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 41st minute of the match. After 45 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Bas Tuitert. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

53 minutes in the game, Wim Wilmes fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Karl-Åke Sandström having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ginlabbet Stockholm fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 57th minute. Penalty! If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. In the 74th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Karl-Åke Sandström, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 76 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Nils-Erik Fagrell came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karl-Åke Sandström made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. Karl-Åke Sandström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 81st minute. Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Jonny McNamara came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Ginlabbet Stockholm fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonny McNamara couldn't finish the play. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonny McNamara in the 87th minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Karl-Åke Sandström made a huge save. After 98 minutes, Sven-Olof Ålberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ginlabbet Stockholm and the Netherlands players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 97 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ginlabbet Stockholm! The Netherlands supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Netherlands would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
