Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Viggo Lidström took the kick off in the first half of the match. Esporte Club Bahia's Marcelo Lomba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Nygaard in the 9th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Esporte Club Bahia's Lauro Carneiro got a free kick in the 10th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Esporte Club Bahia's goal looked a bit too open when Bertram Svenningsen came free, but Marcelo Lomba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Denmark were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after Esporte Club Bahia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Chris Nygaard took the corner. In the 12th minute, Theis Winther hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chris Nygaard to maneuver through the defense. Bertram Svenningsen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Esporte Club Bahia's zone, Mikkel Wulff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Lomba came out of the goal and Mikkel Wulff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Denmark booed when Esporte Club Bahia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Gustavo Paes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lars Steen hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Esporte Club Bahia's Mats Möllgren tried to score from far away in the 27th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 34thth minute of the game Chris Nygaard who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Esporte Club Bahia's Marcelo Lomba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Viggo Lidström hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Chris Nygaard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lars Steen's late challenge caught a Esporte Club Bahia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lars Steen helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd minute of the game Bertram Svenningsen made a throw-in which Chris Nygaard played forward. In the 44th minute Chris Nygaard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Lomba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denmark's Mikkel Wulff got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lars Steen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Lomba having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Chris Nygaard to strike the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 51 minutes, Marcelo Lomba successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Paulo Trancoso made in the 53rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Denmark's Lars Steen. Esporte Club Bahia's Marcelo Lomba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Nygaard in the 54th minute of play. When Tiago Xavier fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Esporte Club Bahia's protests and gave Tiago Xavier a yellow card for diving instead. Esporte Club Bahia's Marcelo Lomba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bjarne Kirkegaard in the 57th minute of play. Marcelo Lomba stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chris Nygaard's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Simon Bendtsen made in the 68th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Esporte Club Bahia's Lauro Carneiro. A throw-in in the 71st minute of the game was made by Paulo Trancoso with Viggo Lidström as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Keld Paulsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viggo Lidström, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viggo Lidström in the 83rd minute of play forced Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute, Lars Steen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 93 minutes into the game, Luiz Gustavo Paes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Keld Paulsen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. For all the effort they put into the match, the Denmark players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Esporte Club Bahia.
