The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tervel Dushanov to strike the kick off in the second half. Edward Vanderstraeten who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Nikifor Ruzhekov when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Edward Vanderstraeten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Through an outstanding action, after 89 minutes, Nikifor Ruzhekov successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some careless play in the EW® Leeds defense, Edward Vanderstraeten kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nikifor Ruzhekov. The EW® Leeds fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nikifor Ruzhekov should have stopped the shot. Edward Vanderstraeten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nikifor Ruzhekov having to interfere. Belgium's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
