Edmund Konopka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Edmund Konopka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Barreto in the 38th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Felipe Barreto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edmund Konopka was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel suffered a sore thigh after 42 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Marcin Baszczyński's late challenge caught a Portugal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcin Baszczyński helped the player get up and apologised. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Viriato Moura showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-2. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The ★Stadion Śląski Chorzów★™ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Portugal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
