Antal Valentin started the match with the kick off. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind SK Gullegem's goalkeeper Urmas Känsäkangas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Major Barna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 23 minutes into the match, Hungary's Takacs Tibor sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Urmas Känsäkangas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Hungary's Fodor Daniel got control of the ball when Xavier Goossens tried to sneak it across the goal line. The corner ended in Antal Valentin almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SK Gullegem's Urmas Känsäkangas did a great save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Xavier Goossens was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the SK Gullegem defense, Antal Valentin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Urmas Känsäkangas. The SK Gullegem fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Urmas Känsäkangas should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Xavier Goossens's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fodor Daniel was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. With a little luck, SK Gullegem's Urmas Känsäkangas got control of the ball when Major Barna tried to sneak it across the goal line.
