In the 9th minute Antal Valentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aleksandr Sibirev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A well-hit corner resulted in Balazs Lajos heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. If Antal Valentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Спартак's Aleksandr Sibirev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Major Barna in the 17th minute of play. Major Barna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aleksandr Sibirev having to make a save. 22 minutes into the game, Bakos Endre threw the ball into play from the sideline. Спартак's Ruslan Filonchikov quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 23 minutes into the game, Antal Valentin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Aleksandr Sibirev was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 30th minute of play forced Спартак's goalkeeper Aleksandr Sibirev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hungary's supporters rose to their feet, but Major Barna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aleksandr Sibirev breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 46 minutes into the match, Hungary's Antal Valentin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aleksandr Sibirev narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 47 minutes into the match, Спартак's goal looked a bit too open when Antal Valentin came free, but Aleksandr Sibirev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Спартак players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Hungary were winning 0-2.

Спартак made a substitution. Clay Addison replaced Danil Kokoshnikov. Спартак's Timofey Buznikin was substituted for Zinoviy Bronnikov. Aleksandr Sibirev made an important save on a dangerous shot by Major Barna in the 53rd minute. Antal Valentin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Major Barna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aleksandr Sibirev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Hungary were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after Спартак's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Antal Valentin took the corner. Antal Valentin took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aleksandr Sibirev. Aleksandr Sibirev dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Major Barna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Takacs Tibor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aleksandr Sibirev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. The supporters of Hungary booed when Спартак was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruslan Filonchikov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antal Valentin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Aleksandr Sibirev made a huge save. In the 84th minute Hungary were awarded a corner. Antal Valentin went to the cornerflag to take it. Antal Valentin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aleksandr Sibirev having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Armando Lucantoni managed to get in a good position for a shot. Спартак's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando Lucantoni was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fodor Daniel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 100th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aleksandr Sibirev having to interfere. When the match was over Hungary could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Спартак throughout the match.
