Wilfredo Benvide might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gigel Tilea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wilfredo Benvide ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 9th minute, Formentera's 龙建烨 seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed 龙建烨 the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Formentera protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and 龙建烨 had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 龙建烨 kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Academia Rio's Lucian Petriceanu got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 13th minute Marin Giubelean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Mondragon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geronimo Silviano kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Formentera's goal looked a bit too open when Marin Giubelean came free, but Camilo Mondragon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Academia Rio's Gigel Tilea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilfredo Benvide in the 18th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sergiu Coșeriu in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Camilo Mondragon saved Formentera from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Academia Rio's Sergiu Coșeriu got a free kick in the 24th minute. With a little luck, Academia Rio's Gigel Tilea got control of the ball when Wilfredo Benvide tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 28th minute of the match, Wilfredo Benvide got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gigel Tilea was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 30 minutes into the match, Marin Giubelean had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Camilo Mondragon. Formentera's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marin Giubelean was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Camilo Mondragon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marin Giubelean in the 34th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Formentera's zone, Marin Giubelean stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Camilo Mondragon came out of the goal and Marin Giubelean tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Formentera getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Ariel Libertad hit a great ball. Camilo Mondragon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marin Giubelean, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Marin Giubelean made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Wlodzimierz Niemoj hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Camilo Mondragon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marin Giubelean in the 53rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marin Giubelean got free with Camilo Mondragon in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marin Giubelean took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Camilo Mondragon. Camilo Mondragon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marin Giubelean in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Camilo Mondragon saved Formentera from getting behind. Marin Giubelean could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Camilo Mondragon made a huge save. Ernests Barsinēvičs charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ernests Barsinēvičs the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Academia Rio booed when Formentera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernests Barsinēvičs didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Academia Rio getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Aron Petrescu hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wlodzimierz Niemoj during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 87 played minutes Formentera got a freekick which was hit by Wlodzimierz Niemoj. Moisés Veiga kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Academia Rio's Gigel Tilea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wlodzimierz Niemoj in the 92nd minute of play.
