It was a well-played corner which Arnoldo Quentin managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florentin Gougeon in the 9th minute of play forced Guanacos's goalkeeper Celso Frutos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andoni Zubizarreta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tobias Natal, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Celso Frutos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florentin Gougeon in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Rodrigo Moreno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Honorato Federigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Andoni Zubizarreta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Florentin Gougeon put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Celso Frutos. In the 27th match minute, Valencia C.F. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Brito to maneuver through the defense. Celso Frutos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florentin Gougeon in the 29th minute of the match. After 31 played minutes Valencia C.F. got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Brito. 32 minutes into the match, Valencia C.F.'s goal looked a bit too open when Tobias Natal came free, but Andoni Zubizarreta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th match minute, Guanacos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnoldo Quentin to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute, Esteban Justin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 39th minute of the match Florentin Gougeon sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celso Frutos skillfully saved the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Arnoldo Quentin in the 42nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Valencia C.F.'s Javi Guerra. In the 44th minute Valencia C.F. were awarded a corner. Florentin Gougeon went to the cornerflag to take it. Rodolfo Mino tried in the game's 44th match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Celso Frutos. An annoying self made goal, 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tobias Natal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Andoni Zubizarreta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobias Natal in the 55th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Honorato Federigo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guanacos's supporters rose to their feet, but Honorato Federigo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andoni Zubizarreta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 60th match minute, Valencia C.F. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artemio Birjaio to maneuver through the defense. Celso Frutos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florentin Gougeon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Valencia C.F.'s zone, Tobias Natal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andoni Zubizarreta came out of the goal and Tobias Natal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Celso Frutos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florentin Gougeon in the 68th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Guanacos's goal looked a bit too open when Florentin Gougeon came free, but Celso Frutos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnoldo Quentin made in the 72nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Valencia C.F.'s Javi Guerra. 73 minutes into the game, Esteban Justin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guanacos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valencia C.F. the free kick. After 73 played minutes Guanacos got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Justin. Guanacos made a substitution. Melchor Dimo replaced Genaro Tebaldo. Florentin Gougeon took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Celso Frutos. Celso Frutos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Andoni Zubizarreta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tobias Natal's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Valencia C.F.'s zone, Tobias Natal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andoni Zubizarreta came out of the goal and Tobias Natal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 87 minutes into the game, Florentin Gougeon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Celso Frutos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Valencia C.F.'s Andoni Zubizarreta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Valencia C.F. from getting a goal against them. In the 95th match minute, Guanacos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anacleto Sanduru to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Valencia C.F. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Guanacos had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
