But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Moreno couldn't finish the play. 22 minutes into the match, IFK Ranger's goal looked a bit too open when Fitz Haseldine came free, but Tomas Vennerlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomas Vennerlund came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Valencia C.F.'s Florentin Gougeon. But to his dismay, Florentin Gougeon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Andoni Zubizarreta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl-Michael Granberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Florentin Gougeon scored 0-3 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tomas Vennerlund, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 38th minute Florentin Gougeon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Vennerlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Vennerlund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florentin Gougeon in the 40th minute of the match. Olov Berglund's late challenge caught a Valencia C.F.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Olov Berglund helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Valencia C.F. booed when IFK Ranger was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olov Berglund didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute Florentin Gougeon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Vennerlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the game, Saleh Saleh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. IFK Ranger's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valencia C.F. the free kick. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rodrigo Moreno to strike the kick off in the second half. If Kacper Pozorski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Florentin Gougeon in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomas Vennerlund prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Michael Granberg in the 65th minute of play forced Valencia C.F.'s goalkeeper Andoni Zubizarreta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lin Yang lost his temper 66 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Lin Yang kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. In the 69th minute of the match IFK Ranger got a corner. Valencia C.F.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Isac Blixt ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Valencia C.F. booed when IFK Ranger was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hubert Mikaelsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the match, IFK Ranger's goalkeeper Tomas Vennerlund had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodrigo Moreno. If Javi Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in IFK Ranger's zone, Rodrigo Moreno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomas Vennerlund came out of the goal and Rodrigo Moreno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, IFK Ranger's Tomas Vennerlund got control of the ball when Rodrigo Moreno tried to sneak it across the goal line. Todd Kidd hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Vidar Lustig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Andoni Zubizarreta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chants of Valencia C.F. echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as IFK Ranger had held the ball for most of the match.
